Just took some time to read through the old post and i thought it was really interesting! Memories may fade but not definitely the word scribbles here! It really bring me back to the time when I was serving NS. Okay... maybe i should take some time to update here occasionally. Yea...?No...?

Momiji Japanese Buffet

It's another round of buffet again! Yes! Wanted to go Sakae Sushi actually but realise Orchard Central does not provide dinner sushi buffet. Suggested to go Kiseki but in the end Chee How suggested this Momiji Japanese Buffet at Paradiz Center(POMO). This is our first visit there and we like it alot. Sorry, we gonna boycott Kiseki i guess.

Momiji Japanese Restaurant at Paradiz Center. They having a promotion for dinner at $30 nett! Value for money! Orinigal price is $32.90++ so it's really a deal to go now!

A sneak peek at our table! Me, Jason and Chee hao conquered all. On they tables consist of yakis, some shells(oysters, mussels baked with mentaiko sauce, some grills and sushis.

Sashimis! They have Salmon, ika, ebi! It was really fresh and the ebi are sweet and springy!

They have quite a lot variety of sushis considering it's a buffet. But the sushi is not really good as the rice just seperate when you pick with the chopsticks. But nevertheless, it got variety like tuna mayo, corn, tempura, inari(filled with a black roe, seaweeds) tamago, crabmeat etc.Oh yea, they have some cold sides like the fruit salad with prawn(which is heavenly good!) and that's a smoked duck? or pork, cannot remember.

Steamed siew mai and gyoza and chicken stock, nothing special but kind of sweet. They have chawanmushi too.

Not forgetting my favourite! long legged crabs and prawns. The prawn and crabs are super duper fresh and sweet. Peel it and eat it, u can taste the sweetness of the meats. Ooooo... simply awesome! had couple of rounds for it.

This is actually a masterpiece of me and Jason from our left over food. Don't you think we got the talent to work as a dishup? haha

Of course there's still quite a lot of things that I didn't cover like the Nabe(hotpot), tempuras. For the drinks they have the standard drinks from the dispenser of coca cola, the Sora(mango peach and black currant), peach tea, ice milo and coffee from dispenser(taste good too). For dessert wise they have Chocolate Fondue! But i'm not really a lover for that. Jellies, fresh fruits and dango. Indeed this is really a worth while money spend with such a spread. Oh they have a ramen counter which wasn't open that day. A little imperfection is that the place wasn't condusive enough and the aircon kinda weak. But the food is great. We will be back for you again!

Sleep Can Wait! Beat the Sunrise!- New Balance Sundown Marathon!

28/05/2011 marks a very special day for me, because it's a personal breakthrough for myself! After delaying myself for almost 2years, I set myself for a marathon finally. Missed the previous due to missing out the registration date and part of myself feel i'm not prepared for it.

This is my New Balance running singlet and race bib! Nice Number? Try to buy 4D haha.

A picture taken before the run with Wei Kwang(mid) and Sebastian(right). I think this is a very interesting photo taking machine by Baicapture. I think the quality of the picture is very good. We need to pose 4 different kinds of poses, but you know we are rather shy and don't know what kind of posture to post. Haha, so u see there's one repetition

The marathon is 42.195km. I must admit that i have not been preparing for this run even though i registered quite early. It was a very tiring journey, not in the stamina and mentally wise but rather our poor legs. My friend always say "Why pay to torture yourself?" and i finally understand what he meant. But nevertheless, the sastifaction of completing the race with your sheer determination is what makes it worthwhile. In the midst of the run, i actually have the thought to give up the run, but i'm keep telling myself, I have already come all the way here, so don't give up. With this i beared the pain to finish my race.Any yes! I managed to finish the race and get the finisher's medal and shirt!

I have not regret to join the race despite the aftermath of the run; aching all over. It's a really nice bonding session with my friends(we chatted while we walked towards the finishing point.) And also a very good chance for me to observe the people. There's a lot of interesting thing during the race of course! Like how a guy farted 3 consecutive loud farts, the light bulb woman and other interesting observations on the people. Will this be my first and last marathon? I have told my friends that i won't be joining full marathon anymore but on the another hand i feel like joing the upcoming Standard Chartered Marathon, provided i have train myself for it.

Professor Brawn Cafe - Social Enterprise with a good cause!

What a relaxing yet abnormal Friday afternoon it is, It had never been like this because we ended class very very early! So i headed down to velocity to get some stuffs for the Sundown Marathon tml!
Anyway had my lunch there. Set myself down at Professor Brawn Cafe after making my rounds there.
Remember we take our the GSM in Yr 1 Sem 1? Yes, Social Enterprise! Today had my chance to visit of this SE.Well gotta admit that I love the spirit of social enterprising =)

Professor Brawn Cafe's interior

I love the concept of the restaurant. It's really give you a college feeling(not singapore though and the colours of the interior are fabulous, colourful and make someone feel happy too.

Menu, in a form of mini ring file. It's a very interesting and neat idea. I hate how those restarant using oversize menu.

Menu's preface? haha!/

Soup of the day- mushroom soup! I guess i must count myself lucky bacause I'm madly in love with mushrooms! Yea, this is not those normal overwhelming with butter or flour taste's soup, It grabs the proportion really well, won't make you feel sick after a few mouthful.

Grilled chicken with truffle sauce. It comes with wild salad with a hinge of salty and sourish taste. Good appetiser. The chicken comes with a big portion of wedges as well. The truffel sauce is a new experience for my tastebud. I can't forget the chicken because of the grilling and make the skin rather crispy, simply close to perfection!

This shop is located at Velocity(Novena Square). There are set lunch, high tea and dinner available. Add $1.00 to enjoy the SOTD and house drink(oh my... what a deal right?) So hurry down to support them! Eat for a good cause! I know it's never easy to run a Social Enterprise!

Sunday! I'm so going to Swensen!

It's sunday and originally our plan was to go JB but we postponed due to unforesee circumstances. Hence, qq treated us to Swensen using the vouchers she bought from Groupon. We went to Suntec's branch! Not to mention it's acutally my first time going to Swensen.

Swensen's menu

Our Starter! Prawn and fruits salad! It's quite appetizing as it's fruitty! A combination of peach, mango? lychee jackfruit and raisin with a mango dressing! It's something different with the usual salads that i ate. As a whole i thought it was nice but the prawn somehow spoils the fruit salad as I don't think it's a good match. Nevertheless I still LOVE it!

qq's main! Err... dono what and chicken combo!

My parent's main! Salmon fillet! It was really delicious.A unseason salmon is already beautifully seductive, what's more with little spice here and there, not covering the freshness of the salmin. A little imperfection is it was slightly tough.

And yep! That's mine! Chicken Cullet! I guess it's one of their speciallity there. The chicken is crispy and yet not oily! The meat is so soft and tender. Yumms!!! The coleslaw was ermmm i guess is average as i don't have any complaints for that. It has a slice of lemon on it which is quite abundant. I think they should replace with a lemon butter and it would be PERFECT!

It's dessert time! This is the AWESOME-EST part of the meal! forget the name but it's a nutty brownie with WHITE CHOCOLATE ICECREAM!White Chocolate? Hearing it already makes me excited even before eating it. It was served on a hot frying pan. Melted butter was poured while they servered to us. It fattening but you won't feel oily as you eat it. Nuts + butter + brownie + white chocolate ice cream = CRAZYILY IN LOVE! haha

And this is a regular Earthquake with 8 scoops of ice cream. I have no special feeling for this but one of the flavour ' Pistachio...", is a taste yet so-familar-but-i-can't-recall taste. I think i ate it when i was much much younger... Argh flashback. Anyway, the 8 flavours includes mango, mint, strawberry sherbert, pistachio, chendol black forest, sticky chocolate and macadania nut. What i like most is Strawberry Sherbert! Sour and sweet with make you feel refreshed after all milky flavours

Swensen is indeed Swensen, with many years of history behind. No wonder it's still surviving till now. Like the slogon "I'm so going back to Swensen", I'm definitely will visit them again!!! <3

Breeks Dinner!

Work was rather relaxing yesterday as I don't need to run like a mad dog in the restaurant. I'm able to take my own sweet time to serve the customer hehe. After work, i headed down to Singapore Expo to collet my Sundown's race pack. Meet up with Chee How who's accompany there. I saw my relatives who was there to collect their racepack. After collection, we visited to the Robinson's Sales which was just next door. It was fun! Because we kept testing the samples there haha. And ended up buying some tibits and a container for my mother. Saw a campmate there too. At around 7plus or 8, we left and head towards Changi Airport. It was qutie sometimes since I went there, i think it's like 2yrs(when i was still in BMT). We wanted to dine there but most of the restaurants there are having great business. So we just decided to dine at Breeks!

Their ice water in a tiny small Blue cup! Nice colour but too small

Caesar's Salad with chicken strips. They are rather stingy on the ingregedient and without the cheese usually found in the salad. The sauce was not sufficient so i requested for another portion. What i like most is the chicken. It was crispy and flavoured. But overall, the salad was rather disappointing

My main course! Ribeyes with double snail sausauges. I requested for a medium rare for my ribeyes but i got a medium well. It's like the toughest meat i ever got. The coleslaw is a bit to the sour side but still acceptable but the vegetables under the colesaw spoil the whole taste. The corn looks over cooked but is sweet. Lastly the sausages are cheezy!Opps forget to mention about the black pepper sauce! It's really a thumbs up, spicy enough and not with a manageable black pepper taste.

Okay...This Chee How's main course. Ribeyes with cajun fish? I guess it similarly upsetting.

We still got a 9" Hawaiian Pizza! forget to take the pic as i rushed to eat when it was served. The don't like the pizza because it smelled with the green and red pepper. It overcome all the flavourings on it.

Overall, I guess i won't be going back the restaurant second time. The food is not up to my standard and not to say the service was not really good as i have to request many times to refill the ice water. But i won't blame them as their staffs are friendly just that it was busy at that time.

Good morning!

Common test is over and today it's the first day of HOLIDAY! I did my best for my test but I guess I gonna flunk it... well... this sem's GPA gonna drop I guess. Any, I'm so gonna start my jogging again, but I have no determination argh!!! Hope I will start on Friday. Tomorrow got a class BBQ, so no point of running today and feast tml. Lastly, I did a logo for NDP2011 as I saw it was a closing date today, so no harm trying it since I'm free

Logo Description : Singapore consist mainly of four races; Chinese, Malays, Indians and Eurasians. Despite the difference in races, during national day, it will bring all of them together to the parade. Hence, my logo, who shows the for human figure represent the four races. All of them are bring together to the big human figure which represent Singapore. The human figure is designed purpose to look like the stars, which are on our Singapore flag.
